One of the reasons that we chose to get married in Kilkenny was because of its ease to reach by car and from Dublin by train. As the wedding is in the middle of the ’silly season’ and the weather may also be bad, we would encourage those travelling from Dublin to consider taking the train. (The train station in Kilkenny is within walking distance of the city centre accommodation locations). We will update train times nearer the time but at present there is a train at 9.30am which would have you in Kilkenny for 11.20am. www.irishrail.ie

Parking

Parking will also need to be considered when booking your accommodation. Due to nature of the city, it is likely that not all guesthouses will have parking available. Parking at the River Court is also ‘very’ limited and is subject to a charge of €2. We would encourage people to drop their car back to their accommodation in advance of coming to the hotel for the reception. This has the added advantage of your car being where you are the next morning

Disk parking is in operation in Kilkenny and it is important to remember that both the day of the wedding and the following day are both normal working days and the traffic wardens will be out.
